I am learning more history of Nuthampstead in the build up for D-Day. This was such a huge operation and Nuthampstead was one of three airfields (US) hosting other Fighter Groups in addition to the 398th, before the invasion. What type of plane did Erickson fly? B-17 or P-51. You must go on the 398th web site also.

There is a site called 55th.org that has a lot of info on the 55th FG, 38thFS. On the left hand side is a heading - Pilots. Go to 38th FS on the next page and scroll down to his name.
